Ted Kennedy has died.

Just reported on the evening news. I think that counts as the end of an era.

More from Reuters.

Just saw this news. End of an era for sure. I still remember our senator Alan Simpson (R-WY) (in the good old days when we had sane representation in DC.) and he used to debate. He was incredibly effective - but lingering for me is the death of Mary Jo Kopechne and not reporting it. Complexity of human nature added to alcohol and too much power - I guess.

Where would great drama be without the Tragic Flaw? But he did a lot of good, regardless.

absolutely -- lots of good - and we all have tragic flaws IMO -- just we don't get them posted in the newspaper TBTG.

The end of an era is what most Swedish newspapers say.
