Redesign

I'm tinkering with the FoJ blog design.  This is an ongoing project as I need to crawl under the hood of the HTML to tweak it as I like it.  This is roughly what it will look like, though I'm going to be tinkering for a while.

Let me know if something doesn't work or looks awful.

Um....

First take: rhymes w/ "shmawful" (you asked!).

Hate the width: have to scroll across to see the Blogroll (which is just barely the 2nd most important thing about the site).

The font for the post headings seems a bit cramped.

I like it-- clean and crisp

What Ann said - it looks good.

JCF, I'll fix that... how big is your screen?

This is much easier to read. Keep tinkering.

Well, this is better (than the first tweek).

Still think the background colors are really blah though.

[Stand by for more thoughts]

JCF: The background is a photograph of the sky and ocean, rendered somewhat grainy for effect. It is pegged as a "fixed" background so the image doesn't scroll. If you don't have a large window, you won't see much of it. Since the sidebar is semi- transparent, you can just see the waves breaking over the rainbow flag.

If you make the window as wide as you can you'll see the whole picture, which is early morning over the Pacific, as seen from my Amtrak window.

Love it! I have severe dyslexia and this is much easier to read.

Thank you.

Why are links that mustard color? I find it difficult to look at.

@calugg: great, that's what we're aiming for!

@JCF:
The visited links are that color because it picks up the background. I will make them a bit darker.
