Disenfranchising the voters as a political strategy

The GOP is on the warpath to restrict voting.

• From Ohio, which proposes strict photo ID laws to combat fraud that hasn't happened,
• to New Hampshire, where they want to disenfranchise students who aren't "adult enough" to know what they are voting for,
• to Minnesota, where they want to make it harder for the poor to vote

One way to be sure that you don't have to win the election fairly, is to keep the other side from voting. Banana republic(an), here we come?
