Special Synod of the Episcopal Diocese of Quincy will be called to order on April 4 at 10:00 AM by the Presiding Bishop of the Episcopal Church, The Most Reverend Katherine Jefferts Schori.
It is important to gather representatives from as many parishes and missions of the diocese as we can assemble for the Synod. It is unlikely that the clergy who have elected to align with the Anglican Province of the Southern Cone will allow their parishioners full access to information about the Synod and opportunity for those who intend to remain in The Episcopal Church to represent their churches at the Synod.
Representatives to the Synod from parishes and missions across the diocese will be validated as delegates with credentials to represent their churches. Where election of delegates has been prohibited or ignored by those who have elected to "realign" from The Episcopal Church to The Southern Cone, delegates will be determined among those who attend the Special Synod prior to officially convening the Synod.
Please make every effort to gather those who have not "realigned" from The Episcopal Church to attend this Special Synod of The Episcopal Diocese of Quincy. If it is possible to elect delegates for your church prior to The Synod, please do so. The event will be a joyful celebration of God's love and peace as we reorganize for mission and ministry in the Name of Jesus Christ across Central Illinois.
Remember, "All are welcome!" in this church.

Anyone know what's going on w/ MadPriest? [Blog is missing all its entries. Tested on both IE and Firefox]
Nevermind. |-p
Does this mean that PB Katharine will convene this reorganizational Special Synod of the Episcopal Diocese of Quincy? This is the first I've heard of it, specifically.
Wow, less than an hour from my parish - which is in the neighboring diocese of Springfield, IL & also where "That Woman" is not allowed to step foot!
To actually hear something positive about TEC, instead of the incessant bashing we're used to. What an opportunity!
